Float Pods
Here at Drift Float Therapy we want to provide you with the best possible floating experience. We have studied a vast array of tanks and float pods in the industry to ensure the highest levels of service, cleanliness and safety. Delivering a quality experience from start to finish is our passion.
Close to 450 kilograms of Epsom salt in the water takes care of you while you float within the tank. The water is kept at a comfortable 34.-35 degrees and Floating tanks are insulated against exterior sound. After you shut the door, you float in total darkness or should you wish with a soothing light. We use a pod called a V2 from a company called Dreampod. These are an American company and one of the leaders in floatation therapy equipment, each pod is in the region of €15k so we ask you to respect it as if it were your own.
Unparalleled Design
The exterior of the Floating pod is crafted using the best quality fibreglass and plastics, buffed to the shiniest finish. With a solid foam core at the base of the structure, our pods ensure maximum soundproofing and heat retention, allowing for a more comfortable float. The door is very easy to operate, opening and closing beautifully. A hidden passive air circulation system will provide excellent air quality and floating experience. For added security and peace of mind, the floor has an added anti-slip surface.
Technologically Advanced
Our Float Pods have a state-of-the-art cleaning system, underwater music for maximum relaxation, automatic diagnostics, and monitoring systems so we can make sure everything is the way it should be inside the tank.
Should you need assistance there is a large red button inside your pod to alert staff who can help you out in any way necessary.
State-of-the-art Cleaning
Float Pods have a completely seamless interior, eliminating the growth of mould or mildew inside. This coupled with the automated cleaning system ensures the utmost standard in hygiene available, for further detail read below.
Please note if you have had your hair dyed in the last 10-14 days you cannot use the tanks, the dye could result in contaminating and colouring the salt which is quite costly, this is very important please read our FAQ’s.
Cleanliness
This part can get a little scientific, but at the end of the day we want you to know that the water we use is far cleaner than any swimming pool that you have ever swam in. We use multiple systems to clean and purify the water ensuring the cleanest possible experience.
Filtration
The purification system in our pods is the most advanced available. After each float, the water is recirculated at 48gpm which achieves three complete turnovers of the water. The filtration system filters particles from the water to 1 micron in size. By comparison, standard pool and spa filters filter to 20-30 microns.
H2O2
H2O2 has been used as an antimicrobial agent since the early 1800s. It was used as a disinfectant in milk as early as 1904 which makes it a good choice for treating water. H2O2 has high antibacterial activity and act twice as fast as chlorine, think of the way a swimming pool works, except extremely more efficient, we have a micro-dosing system which pumps small amounts through the water after each use. Combined with the rest of the system you cannot get a cleaner environment.
UV
The sun has an amazing ability to elevate our moods, provide the essential vitamin b 12, and when harnessed correctly, the power of its ultraviolet rays are no exception. Many of earth’s inhabitants, such as us, have an outer covering (skin) which allows us to tolerate a certain amount of the sun’s power; bacteria, viruses and moulds, on the other hand, have a very low tolerance for ultraviolet rays. UV works to purify by damaging cellular DNA—when anything undesirable in the pod meets these purifying rays, they are killed. UV treatment protects against viruses, moulds and bacteria.
Salt
Another mode of disinfection is inherent in our float pods/suite in that the concentration of the salt water solution is approximately 25% salt. Salt is an extremely hostile environment for any living organism. It has been shown in scientific literature that pathogenic microorganism cannot survive in concentrations higher than 10% salt. The types of organisms responsible for water‐borne illnesses in humans cannot survive in the high‐salt concentration solutions present in our float pods/suite.
